Tester statement on the passing of World War II veteran Mark Radcliffe

(U.S. SENATE) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester, Montana’s only member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today released the following statement in response to the passing of World War II veteran Mark Radcliffe.  Radcliffe was a member of the First Special Service Force, a top-secret combat unit based at Fort Harrison:

“Our nation will always remember Capt. Radcliffe as a patriot and will always honor him as a hero.  Like so many Americans who fought for the freedoms of this nation, Mark forever changed America’s history.”

Tester is a co-sponsor of legislation to grant the Congressional Gold Medal to the First Special Service Force.  The unit included Radcliffe and Joe Glass, who also passed away over the weekend.
