Senator Tester offers internships for college students and recent graduates in his Washington, D.C. and state offices. Internships are a great introduction to a career in government, the legislative process, and the responsibilities of a U.S. Senator. While specific internship duties vary between offices, responsibilities include researching legislative issues, attending Congressional hearings, preparing memos, monitoring media hits, and assisting with constituent services. You will work closely with various members of Senator Tester’s staff to hone your communication skills and legislative knowledge by becoming an integral member of Team Tester.

In order to process your internship application, please submit each of the materials listed below in .PDF format.

  • Cover Letter (be sure to indicate which office, D.C. or state, you would like to work in)
  • Resume with three references
  • A completed Internship Application Form
  • A short writing sample of no more than two pages
