Tester and Zinke Congratulate Helena’s Christian Palmer on Appointment to U.S. Naval Academy

(Montana)-A student at Helena’s St. Andrew School, nominated by Senator Jon Tester and Congressman Ryan Zinke, has received an appointment to the prestigious United States Naval Academy.

Tester reached out to Palmer via telephone today to congratulate him on his appointment.

“Christian is a gifted and well-rounded student who at a young age has made a positive impact on his community,” Tester said. “The Naval Academy will be lucky to have him and I appreciate his willingness to serve our country.”

“Bravo Zulu to Christian! I’m always impressed by the young men and women who choose to serve our great nation,” Zinke said. “Christian’s record of success and leadership will be a huge asset to the Navy and I look forward to following his career serving our nation.”

Along with being an exceptional student, Palmer excels at swimming, martial arts, and Ultimate Frisbee. Also, Palmer participated in Boys State as well as serving as a House page during the 2015 legislative session.

Tester and Zinke nominated Palmer in December of 2015. Montanans interested in applying for a military academy nomination in the future are encouraged to do so online at Tester’s website, or Zinke’s website.
