Tester, Daines congratulate Stevensville student on acceptance to Air Force Academy

(U.S. SENATE) – Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines today announced that a Stevensville student has been accepted to the prestigious U.S. Air Force Academy.

Joseph Fecteau, 18, is the Stevensville High School Student Body President and team captain of the varsity soccer team. He is also Secretary of National Honor Society, Vice President of Key Club, and was actively involved in speech and debate. He served as a delegate to Montana Boys State and was named the 2014 Stevensville Teen Ambassador of the Year.

Tester nominated Joseph in December based on his academics, athleticism, public service and commitment to serving his country. Today, Senator Tester called Joseph personally to congratulate him on his acceptance.

“Joseph will serve Montana and his nation impressively in the Air Force Academy” said Tester, a former teacher. “I’m proud to congratulate Joseph on his acceptance, and I wish him the very best as he pursues an education in service to our nation.”

“Joseph is an outstanding young leader who has excelled both inside the classroom and in his extracurricular activities,” Daines stated. “I know Joseph will represent Montana honorably at the United States Air Force Academy and will continue to serve as an exemplary leader.”
