Tester sending new resources to rural Montana schools

Students will receive Senate computers to learn and stay connected

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today announced a donation of 25 computers to rural schools across Montana. The computers will be used for educational purposes, to advance students’ technology skills and to prepare them for the 21st century economy.

The schools and school districts, which will each receive five computers, are:Circle School District

  • Poplar School District
  • Culbertson School
  • Brockton School
  • Terry School District

“As a former teacher, I know students need effective, up-to-date tools to learn, communicate and stay connected,” Tester said. “I’m confident Montana’s teachers and students will put these computers to great use and for innovative teaching and learning.”

Tester secured the computers for Montana students through the United States Senate’s Computers for Schools Program. The program integrates technology into classrooms by sending surplus computers to public schools across the country.

Tester also supports strengthening Montana’s education system and increasing opportunity by boosting Pell Grants, decreasing student loan rates, and publicizing education tax benefits. He co-sponsored the Federal Student Loan Refinancing Act that would allow student borrowers to refinance their student debt at lower interest rates and increase accessibility to higher education.
