Tester statement on credit card reform bill becoming law

(BIG SANDY, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after President Obama signed into law the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act, commonly known as the CARD Act.  Tester helped write the CARD Act as a member of the Senate Banking Committee.

“If you have a credit card, you’ll see these common-sense changes go to work.  The CARD Act puts the credit card industry back on the side of ordinary, hardworking Montanans who are tired of getting squeezed.  My thanks to all the lawmakers who voted to reform the credit card business, and my thanks to the President for signing it into law.”
