Tester statement on passing of Ray Peck

(LEWISTOWN, Mont.)  – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after the death of former state legislator Ray Peck:

“Sharla and I are saddened to learn of the passing of our long time close friend Ray Peck. Ray set the standard for public servants in Montana through his passionate commitment to future generations and veterans. His articulate positions, his willingness to find the best in everyone, and his love for the state of Montana will be missed. Sharla’s and my thoughts and prayers are with Ray’s family and all those fortunate enough to have known him.”

Peck served in the Air Force during World War II.

Tester credits Peck with convincing him to run for the state legislature in 1998.
