Hi-Line Today: Senator Secure $140,000 for City of Havre Streets

by Isreal Hale

U.S. Senator Jon Tester secured $140,000 for the City of Havre to improve street safety.

“Montanans count on safe streets to stay connected, grow their small businesses and support their communities.” He said. “These targeted resources will help Havre plan for the future and ensure that folks can count on safe travel for years to come”

Funding will be delivered to Havre in the form of a Safe Streets for All grant to enhance safety and efficiency using various control methods. The grant will be used to develop a comprehensive safety action plan, conduct targeted safety and traffic control engineering studies, and pilot temporary demonstration activities near the local senior center, school zones, public parks, and on wide-street corridors using paint, plastic bollards, and stop signs.
