Tester: Thompson Falls Dam is win-win-win for energy, jobs, safety

(U.S. SENATE) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today congratulated PPL Montana for being recognized for superior workplace safety and health at PPL’s dam in Thompson Falls.

“Thompson Falls dam is important to Montana for obvious reasons—for almost 100 years, it’s harnessed clean and renewable energy, and created good Montana jobs,” Tester said.  “Now the folks there are being recognized for investing in the health and safety of PPL’s most important resources—the people who work there.  I congratulate them on their achievement, and on their contribution to Montana jobs and energy.”

During Tester’s last visit to Thompson Falls, he viewed a new fish ladder installed by PPL to accommodate threatened bull trout in the Clark Fork River.

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association recently recognized the Thompson Falls dam as one of the safest and healthiest work sites in the United States.
