Tester Veterans Day statement

(LAUREL, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester, a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, today released the following statement:

"2008-11-11

"I appreciate all Montanans who take time out of their day to pay respect to America's veterans.

On Veterans Day we show our appreciation to all Americans who fought for—and died for—our country.  We should do that every day.

To all veterans, and to all troops serving our country now, thank you.  And thank you to your families.

Veterans Day is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to the men and women who served our military.  We're making good progress in living up to the promises made to America's veterans.  But we all know there's still a long way to go.

That's why I'm working closely with folks in the Senate to adequately fund the VA and provide quality health care for veterans.  We've also worked hard to provide new opportunities for education.  And new opportunities for the families of veterans and active-duty troops.

Thanks again for your dedication, your sacrifice, and your commitment to Montana and America.

God Bless."
