Tester Congratulates Billings’ Nate Dewar on Acceptance to the U.S. Air Force Academy

Senator nominated Dewar and 18 other Montanans for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies’ classes of 2025

U.S. Senator Jon Tester congratulated Billings’ Nate Dewar today on his appointments to the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Nate is currently enrolled at Boise State University and graduated from Billings West High School. He is the Co-founder and President of Labre Street Foundation, was the team captain of the Billings Legion Baseball team, a Key Club member, Family Promise and Relay for Life volunteer, and currently volunteers at the Winter Warming Shelter in downtown Boise.

“Each year, I have the honor of nominating the best and brightest our state has to offer to our nation’s prestigious military academies, and it’s a duty I take very seriously as Montana’s senior senator,” said Tester. “Nate has proven himself an exceptional student, community member, and leader and I wish him all the best as he continues Montana’s long legacy of service, I have no doubt he will make us all very proud.”

Tester nominated Nate-along with 18 other Montanans-in December based on their academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military. A nomination from a member of Congress is the first step in students’ applications to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Montana students who are interested in applying to a military academy in the future can request a nomination from Tester HERE.
