Tester Congratulates Flathead County’s Camren Ross and Brandon Wenzel on Acceptance to West Point

Senator nominated Ross, Wenzel, and 17 other Montanans for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies’ classes of 2025

U.S. Senator Jon Tester congratulated Whitefish’s Camren Ross and Bigfork’s Brandon Wenzel today on their appointments to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Camren is a varsity wrestler and tennis player, and the captain of his varsity football team at Whitefish High School. He is a three-time All State Academic Aware recipient, a member of the National Honors Society, Key Club, a student mentor of 4th Graders, and active in theater and his church.

Brandon is a football player and track and field athlete at Bigfork High School. He is also class president, a National Honor Society member, an Eagle Scout, and a U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Cadet Captain.

“Montanans have a long, proud history of serving in our nation’s armed forces, and helping the next generation of leaders continue that legacy by attending one of our prestigious military service academies is one of my greatest honors as Montana’s Senior Senator,” said Tester. “Camren and Brandon have proven that they’re exceptional students and leaders, and I wish them all the best on this exciting opportunity at West Point where I have no doubt they will keep making Montana proud.”

Tester nominated Camren and Brandon-along with 17 other Montanans-in December based on their academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military. A nomination from a member of Congress is the first step in students’ applications to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Montana students who are interested in applying to a military academy in the future can request a nomination from Tester HERE.
