Tester Congratulates Two Dot’s Margaret Martin on Acceptance to West Point

Senator nominated Martin and 18 other Montanans for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies’ classes of 2025

U.S. Senator Jon Tester congratulated Wheatland County high school student Margaret Martin today on her appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Margaret is a varsity cheerleader and varsity track athlete at Harlowton High School. She is also a ballet dancer, air rifle competitor, Class President, President of the Wheatland County 4H, member of the National Honor Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Future Career Community Leaders of America, Key Club, Speech and Debate, Science Club, and Pep Club.

“Helping young Montanans achieve their dreams of attending one of our nation’s prestigious service academies is one of my greatest honors as Montana’s Senior Senator,” said Tester. “Margaret has proven that she’s an exceptional Montanan, as well as a tremendous student and leader, and I wish her all the best on this exciting new journey at West Point where I have no doubt she will serve our state and country proudly.”

Tester nominated Martin-along with 18 other Montanans-in December based on her academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military. A nomination from a member of Congress is the first step in students’ applications to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
