Tester Congratulates Bozeman's Alexander Stonewall Redmon on Acceptance to West Point

Senator nominated class of 2024 students for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies

U.S. Senator Jon Tester congratulated Bozeman area high school student Alexander Stonewall Redmon today on his appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Alexander is currently attending BASIS Independent School in Arizona where he is active in basketball, cross country, National Honor Society, and peer tutoring. He was also a Senate Page in the summer of 2019.

“Alexander is an exceptional young Montanan, who has already proven himself to be a tremendous student and leader,” said Tester. “I wish him all the best on his exciting new journey at West Point, where I have no doubt that he will serve our state and country proudly.”

Tester nominated Alexander in December based on his academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military. A nomination from a member of Congress is the first step in students’ applications to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
