Tester Statement on Memorial Day

(Billings, Mont.) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester released the following statement in honor of Memorial Day:

“Today we honor the lives of the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our country. We will never forget them or take for granted the way of life they fought to defend. Let’s thank our veterans today, and remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty protecting Montana.”

Tester, the Ranking Member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, is attending the Memorial Day Ceremony at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Montana where he will deliver the keynote Memorial Day Address. Tester will be joined by Department of Veterans Affairs Undersecretary for Memorial Affairs Randy Reeves, who will also be speaking at the event.

Tester was instrumental in designating the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery as a national cemetery, and successfully fought to change a VA policy to allow veterans groups to request official headstones for homeless veterans.
