Tester Secures $4.6 Million to Upgrade Helena Regional Airport

Funding Will Improve Helena Terminal, Help #ConnectMT

(U.S. Senate) – The Helena Regional Airport terminal expansion is getting another boost, thanks to a grant secured by U.S. Senator Jon Tester.

This grant, worth over $4.6 million, will fund an expansion of the main terminal building, and comes on the heels of a $2.1 million grant Tester delivered to the airport last month.

“Air travel in and out of our state’s capital is crucial to keeping Montanans connected and bringing folks to our state,” Tester said. “Expanding Helena’s airport terminal will improve safety, increase tourism, and provide a boost to the Helena’s economy.”

“Passenger traffic through the Helena Regional Airport has grown in recent years, and this funding will help to ensure continued growth and expanded opportunities for commercial air service,” said Jeff Wadekamper, Director of the Helena Regional Airport. “We appreciate Senator Tester’s support in securing these very important funds.”

Tester’s #ConnectMT initiative has paid off big for communities across the state – last month alone Tester secured over $20 million in grants to renovate and expand runways, install safety enhancements, and improve air travel around the state.
