Tester Helps Safety Plans Take Flight at Ravalli County Airport

(Billings, Mont.) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester announced funding today to help the Ravalli County Airport in Hamilton upgrade its taxiway and install new safety equipment.

“With big skies come big responsibilities,” Tester said. “One of them is maintaining and upgrading our state’s air travel infrastructure because it’s such a critical part of keeping Montanans safely connected.”

Ravalli County Airport will receive $201,600 through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to start reconstructing its taxiway and replace the airport’s existing rotating beacon, which allows pilots to land safely at night.

Tester helped secure similar funding for airports in Missoula and Deer Lodge this month and has announced more than $20 million to upgrade over two dozen airports across the state this year as part of his #ConnectMT initiative.
