Tester: Montanans Made Their Voices Heard on Upper Missouri River Breaks Monument

(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today issued the following statement after Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced there will be no modifications to the Upper Missouri River Breaks Monument:

“Montanans made their voices heard and we want the Missouri River Breaks unchanged for hunters and anglers for generations to come, and for our ag industry to continue to flourish. I thank Secretary Zinke for understanding that Montanans have already weighed in on the Breaks and how the land is managed, and I urge him to hold the line to protect Montana jobs.”

Over 700 Montanans have contacted Tester with their concerns about the Administration using this review to roll back public access to the region.

Tester outlined his position on review of the Missouri River Breaks in a letter to Secretary Zinke last month.
