Tester Announces $87,000 in Preparedness Funding for Crow Tribe

(U.S. Senate) – As part of his ongoing efforts to increase the safety and security of tribal lands, Senator Jon Tester announced today that the Crow Tribe will receive $86,636 in funding through the Department of Homeland Security’s Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program (THSGP).

“In order to strengthen our safety and security we need everyone working together, and that includes engaging our tribal communities,” said Tester. “These resources will help increase preparedness in Crow Country and get resources to the ground in case emergency strikes.”

The purpose of the THSGP is to provide tribes with funding to help analyze and address potential security threats through planning, training, and logistical initiatives. As Montana’s only member of the Homeland Security Committee, Tester has fought to secure funding for this program and other DHS preparedness programs like it.
