Tester statement on two-year anniversary of Farm Bill

(U.S. Senate) – Montana farmer and Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement on the two-year anniversary of the 2014 Farm Bill being signed into law:

“From my farm in the heart of the Golden Triangle to food banks across our state, Montanans understand the importance of the Farm Bill in keeping our economy strong and our families fed. Congress must build upon this success if we’re going to reverse the exodus of folks from rural America and protect our economy from a changing climate.”

Tester helped pass the 2014 Farm Bill that includes permanent livestock disaster assistance, support for beginning farmers and ranchers, and savings of $23 billion. The legislation also includes provisions to protect prime hunting and fishing habitat.
