Tester statement on State of the Union

Senator Jon Tester released the following statement tonight following the President’s State of the Union address:

“The President has laid out his priorities, and now it’s time for Congress to outline ours and get to work fixing the dysfunction that is plaguing Washington. We must defeat ISIS, create better paying jobs, make college more affordable, and end the flood of money in politics. It’s past time for Congress to step up to tackle the tough issues and provide the leadership that Montanans and Americans expect.”

As a member of the bipartisan State of the Union Escort Committee, Tester joined members of Congressional leadership in ushering the President into the House chamber. This is the second State of the Union where Tester has been selected to serve on the Escort Committee.
