Tester statement on the Senate reauthorizing the Older Americans Act

(U.S. Senate) – Senator Jon Tester released the following statement after the Senate this week unanimously voted to reauthorize the Older Americans Act:

“The Senate worked together to provide long-term stability for Montana seniors who need a little help. Every year the Older Americans Act helps seniors live active and healthy lives while sustaining their independence and strong quality of life.”

The Older Americans Act helped provide services to over 58,000 seniors in Montana in 2014, including Meals on Wheels, which delivered nearly 700,000 meals to Montana seniors.

The measure now moves to the House of Representatives, which has yet to act to reauthorize the Older Americans Act.
