Tester statement on community bank relief bill

(U.S. Senate) – Senator Jon Tester, member of the Banking Committee, issued the following statement after Democrats introduced an alternative to Chairman Shelby’s Financial Regulatory Improvement Act of 2015:

“Community banks didn’t cause the financial meltdown in 2008 and they shouldn’t have to pay for it either. Our alternative levels the playing field so small lenders on Main Street can continue to help families, small businesses, and farms and ranches succeed. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to send a practical, responsible bill to the President’s desk.”
