Tester statement on unanimous passage of human trafficking bill

(U.S. Senate) – Senator Jon Tester today issued the following statement after the Senate passed a bill to provide justice for survivors of human trafficking in a 99-0 vote:

“Human trafficking is a heinous crime and one that we must stop. This bill will help survivors access health care, housing and support services, and it will hold offenders accountable. I’m pleased the Senate was able to come together to get this done for women, children and families.”

Senator Tester held a listening session in Poplar, Montana last year to hear from folks about how human trafficking is impacting Indian Country and the Bakken area. He also recently requested more resources to help eliminate human trafficking in Indian Country.
