Tester supports Chaudhuri to Chair the National Indian Gaming Commission

(U.S. SENATE)-Senator Jon Tester, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, today issued the following statement after the Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a nomination hearing for Jonodev Osceola Chaudhuri to be Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission.

“I support the nomination of Mr. Chaudhuri and I look forward to working across the aisle to confirm him as soon as possible. I urge this Congress to move all nominations forward without unnecessary delays and avoid leaving important positions unfilled or under interim leadership for an extended period of time.”

Chaudhuri is an enrolled member of the Muskogee Nation and currently serves as the acting Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
