Tester statement on passage of a clean Homeland Security funding bill

(U.S. SENATE)-Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Senate’s bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security through the end of the fiscal year:

“I’m glad the House followed the Senate’s lead, worked across the aisle, and passed a clean Department of Homeland Security funding bill. Montanans expect Congress to responsibly govern and not cause another costly government shutdown, especially one that could have jeopardized our national security. It’s time for Congress to get back to work and quit governing crisis to crisis.”

Over 800 people are currently employed by the Department of Homeland Security in Montana.
