Tester response to President’s State of the Union

(U.S. Senate) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement in response to the President’s State of the Union address:

“Tonight’s speech offers a starting point for Democrats and Republicans to work together to increase prosperity for middle class families and small businesses. We can’t have a 21st Century economy or a stronger middle class without investments in infrastructure and public education. College must be made more affordable, but students should still have a little skin in the game. And I fully support expanding broadband so rural families and small businesses can compete in today’s economy. We can make these investments by fixing our tax code and making sure our economy is powered from the middle out, not the top down.”
