Tester to hold veterans listening session in Helena this Friday

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester, a senior member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, will hold a veterans listening session this Friday in Helena to hear from Montana veterans about VA healthcare and benefits.

After recent reports that the VA mismanaged waiting lists for veterans seeking care, Tester announced a series of steps he is taking to address access issues, including a statewide tour to hear directly from Montana veterans regarding the services available to them from the VA.

Tester, who sits on the conference committee tasked with negotiating a final VA reform bill, wants ideas from Montana veterans to share with his fellow committee members. He has held three previous listening sessions in Anaconda, Missoula and Kalispell.

Montana veterans are encouraged to join Tester to share their thoughts on ways to improve the VA and build on the department’s strengths.

Tester’s Helena listening session will be held at the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services auditorium on Friday, July 18 at 9:45 a.m.
