Tester to host Montana Academy & ROTC Day in Billings on Saturday

Magic City event will be at Armed Forces Reserve Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester is hosting an event to encourage Montana middle and high school students to pursue careers in the U.S. military in Billings this Saturday.

Tester’s informational meeting will take place at the Billings Armed Forces Reserve Center at 2901 Gable Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Representatives from Tester’s office will be joined by officials from the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and ROTC.

“Montana has a proud military tradition, and I’ve been honored to nominate the best and brightest to our nation’s service academies,” said Tester, a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “All Montanans should be proud of the young folks who want to serve our country, and Academy Days are a great way for those students to find out more information.”

Tester this year nominated 36 Montana students to the nation’s service academies. More information is available at Tester’s website at www.tester.senate.gov/nominations.

Billings-area students interested in applying for a military academy nomination in the future are encouraged to attend Saturday’s event.
