Tester: Betty Babcock ‘put Montanans first’

Senator hails former Montana First Lady

Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement in honor of former Montana First Lady Betty Babcock, who on Sunday passed away at the age of 91:

“Betty Babcock’s legacy is an example for all Montanans. Betty spent her life putting Montanans first, and our state is better place to live and work because of her dedication to public service and to the people of Montana. Sharla and I will keep Betty’s family in our thoughts and prayers.”

Babcock was married to former Montana Governor Tim Babcock, who led Montana from 1962 to 1969. She also served as a Constitutional Convention delegate in 1972 and in the Montana House of Representatives.
