Tester statement on agreement to avoid shutdown

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester tonight released the following statement in response to an agreement to avoid a government shutdown:

“I’m relieved the House finally agreed to avoid shutting down the government this weekend because it’s the last thing our economy needs, it would have been irresponsible, and it would have cost jobs.   As for the actual agreement, the devil is in the details.  And I look forward to making sure the plan is right for Montana before it earns my vote next week.”

Congress next week is expected to vote on a final bill to cut tens of billions of dollars in spending and to fund the federal government.
