Tester to host next small business jobs workshop in Missoula

Senator will focus Feb. 23 event on boosting entrepreneurship

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today announced that he will host his next Small Business Opportunity Workshop next month in Missoula.

Tester’s next workshop will be held on February 23, at the University of Montana’s University Center, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The free event focuses on young entrepreneurship in Montana and how to expand small businesses to create more jobs.

“I’m bullish when it comes to Montana’s potential, because we’re home to some of America’s hardest working, most innovative self-starters in business,” Tester said.  “We’re seeing incredible success with these workshops in making sure business owners have the tools they need to help grow their companies and boost jobs in Montana.  I encourage folks across the state to attend our event next month to learn how we can keep that momentum going.”

Tester’s Missoula workshop builds on the success of his previous small business and jobs workshops in Great Falls, Bozeman and Kalispell over the past two years.  Hundreds of Montana small business owners and entrepreneurs have attended Tester’s workshops.

Tester also organized and hosted the Treasure State Export Seminar in Billings last year, bringing Montana small businesses together with several agencies, such as the Export-Import Bank of the U.S., and with internet giant Google to help boost Montana exports.

Tester’s Missoula jobs workshop is open to the public.  Montanans interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at tester.senate.gov/workshop.
