Tester to veterans: ‘We’ll never forget your service and sacrifice’

(BIG TIMBER, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester, a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today released the following statement for Veterans Day, November 11, 2009:

To all of America’s veterans: Thank you for your service.  And for your patriotism.  We’ll never forget the sacrifice you made—and continue to make—for the United States.

Now it is time for our country to live up to the promises we made to you.  The promise of quality health care for all veterans—no matter where you live.

You’ve done your part.  As your U.S. Senator and a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I’ll keep working hard to make sure Congress meets its end of the bargain.

Because it’s our patriotic duty as Americans to make sure nobody who defends our nation is ever forced to go it alone, whether in the field or here at home.

Again, my thanks to all of Montana’s veterans.  And their families.  We’ll never forget your service and sacrifice.  And to those who are serving on the front lines today, tomorrow’s veterans, and their loved ones, thank you for your service.
