Tester statement on the resignation of Alberto Gonzales

Today, Senator Jon Tester released the following statement on the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales:

"I was pleased to see Alberto Gonzales heed the calls of myself and many others and resign.  Under Mr. Gonzales' watch the Department of Justice was politicized to a level that we haven't seen since Watergate.  I encourage the President to nominate someone who will restore leadership to the Department and serve all Americans, not one political party or another.  I look forward to working with the next Attorney General to combat the many threats that our country faces while protecting our constitutional rights."
