Tester congratulates Blackfeet ropers for ‘impressive’ rodeo victory

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement congratulating Ty St. Goddard and Ryle Whitford for winning the team roping competition at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver, Colo.:

“I join the Blackfeet Nation and Montanans in congratulating Ty and Ryle for Sunday’s impressive victory. While competing before thousands, they showed amazing agility and grit in their dramatic come-from-behind win. I trust that these young men will have many more opportunities to represent the Treasure State in rodeos for years to come.”

In three rounds of competition, St. Goddard and Whitford placed third, second, and fourth, to win the event with the best total time of 16.2 seconds.
