Tester signs Christmas cards, pays tribute to America’s heroes

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Dozens of America’s heroes will get a Christmas card from Senator Jon Tester this year.

Tester took part in the American Red Cross’ annual Holiday Mail for Heroes this week, signing cards for service members, veterans and their families worldwide.

Last year, Holiday Mail for Heroes sent more than 1.4 million cards.

“It is important for men and women serving our country away from home to know they are appreciated, especially during the holidays,” said Tester, a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee. “Sending a card is a small gesture to remind our troops that we’re always thinking of them, and that we’ll live up to our promise of access to quality health care when they come home as veterans.”

Tester’s Rural Veterans Health Care Improvement Act—which will improve care for all veterans living in Montana and across rural America—unanimously passed the Senate Thursday.
