Tester to host second workshop for Montana contractors, businesses

Senator aims to bring jobs, federal contracts to Montana

(BOZEMAN, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester today announced he will host another Small Business Opportunity Workshop to help Montana contractors and companies compete for federal contracts and create jobs in Montana.

All Montana contractors and businesses are invited to attend the day-long event, scheduled for February 19 at the Best Western GranTree Inn in Bozeman.

Tester is partnering with Governor Brian Schweitzer to organize the workshop.

Representatives from federal and state agencies will be on hand to answer questions and share information on how Montana businesses can compete for federal contracts and bring more jobs to Montana.

“When Montana companies compete on a level playing field, they win,” Tester said.  “And that’s what we’re doing with these workshops—we’re leveling the field so Montana contractors and businesses can create more jobs and put folks back to work on Main Street.”

Tester hosted a similar event in Great Falls last June.  That workshop helped several Montana companies win federal contracts for construction projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Participants in Tester’s February 19 workshop include:

  • Malmstrom Air Force Base
  • Montana Department of Administration
  • Montana Department of Transportation
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • U.S. Department of Energy
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • U.S. General Services Administration
  • U.S. National Park Service

Several more federal and state agencies are expected to attend and further details will be available in the coming days.

No sign-up is required to attend the workshop, however businesses attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling Tester’s office at 866-554-4403 or 406-586-4450.
