Tester talks farming and climate at Bozeman Public Library

BOZEMAN – Senator Jon Tester flew into Bozeman this afternoon to discuss agriculture and climate change in the state.

He joined the Montana Farmers Union and researchers at Montana State University as they presented how and why the agriculture industry is changing at the Bozeman Public Library, in front of a standing-room crowd.

A farmer himself, Tester looks to science to find a solution to keep farmers in business and keep food affordable for Montanans.

Tester told the crowd he believes all farmers know climate change is happening – whether or not they choose to use that phrase.

“I think the end goal is that they figure out the tools that the farmers can use to maintain profitability,” said Sen. Tester, D-Montana.
