Tester: Stop playing politics with homeland security
Senator Jon Tester is urging Congress to provide the best resources possible to law enforcement while protecting Americans’ civil liberties.
He told fellow senators that they need to stop playing politics with Department of Homeland Security funds.
“It was about a year ago that we some people in this body that treated funding for DHS, Department of Homeland Security as a political football. That is unacceptable. Quite frankly, you need consistency, you need continuity, you need predictability,” Tester said.
The Democrat supports legislation protecting the nation’s northern border and increasing communication among various law enforcement agencies.
