BOZEMAN, Mont. — A Big Timber man is finally recognized 43 years after serving for our country.

The honorable veteran was presented with six medals outside of the Bozeman Public Library on Friday.

John Horigan fought in the Vietnam War, but when he returned from service, the military misplaced his records.

Now, 43 years later, Senator Tester located those files and presented Horigan with the long over-due medals- which included a Purple Heart.

Horigan's family stood beside him as a group cheered in his honor.

A letter of recognition will be sent to the White House.
