Hi-Line Today: Law Makers working to overturn Biden Admin’s minimum nursing home staffing mandate.

by Isreal Hale

Law makers are joining forces to introduce a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the Biden administrations minimum staffing mandate for nursing homes, and among them is Montana Senator Jon Tester.

A Congressional Review Act is an oversight tool congress can use to overturn final rules issues by federal agencies with a majority vote.

Those against the ruling say that the policy is “one-size-fits-all” in scope, arguing that those in rural communities are already struggling with staffing shortages and this rule would force those facilities to shut down.
