Billings Gazette: Letter to the editor: Tester is a respected and effective Senator

by Terry Hanson

Daniel Hamann’s letter, Sunday Gazette, Oct. 1, claiming Sen. Tester sold out veterans is disingenuous at best. He makes vague general allegations about “reports” of mistreatment of VA patients, “among many other issues.”

Given the complete lack of substance in his letter, I question whether or not Hamann is even a veteran. As a recipient of VA medical care I can personally attest to the fine medical care being provided by the VA, that has even improved since Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., took the helm.

On the subject of veterans, I noticed that the Sunday Gazette had a picture of Tim Sheehy in Local & State. After announcing for the Senate, he has been running ads and shooting off his mouth about being a patriot. What kind of patriot forgets or no longer adheres to the oath he took upon entering the armed forces? Upon entry one swears to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. He is a Donald Trump sycophant. Trump, attempted to subvert the 2020 election and obstruct the peaceful transfer of power. He opposes continuing this democracy based upon the Constitution. Trump recently said, referencing his phony election fraud claim, that this “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

I’m tired of out-of-state phonies, with money, coming to Montana to buy elections for themselves. Jon Tester has farm equipment that has been in Montana longer than Sheehy and is a respected and effective Senator for Montana.
