Tester ready to welcome second Big Sky Honor Flight

(U.S. SENATE) – Senator Jon Tester today released the following statement after news that the Big Sky Honor Flight would fly about 90 Montana World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. in September to visit the National World War II Memorial:

“I’m proud that more Montana veterans will get to visit the World War II Memorial and to reflect on the sacrifice and heroism that defines their generation.  Montana’s first honor flight was a tremendous success and I’m proud that Montanans are once again rallying together to honor more of our World War II veterans.  I look forward to welcoming them this fall.”

Big Sky Honor Flight today announced that the trip will take place September 23 and 24.

Big Sky Honor Flight is a non-profit organization that takes veterans to the memorial free of charge.  Each charter flight, funded by private donations, costs around $150,000.

Tester is Montana’s only member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
