Tester to hold veterans listening session in Great Falls

(BIG SANDY, Mont.) – Senator Jon Tester, a senior member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, will hold a veterans listening session Wednesday, August 13 in Great Falls to hear from Montana veterans about VA healthcare and benefits.

After recent reports that the VA mismanaged waiting lists for veterans seeking care, Tester announced a series of steps he is taking to address access issues, including a statewide tour to hear directly from Montana veterans regarding the services available to them through the VA.

Tester, who sat on the conference committee that negotiated a final VA reform bill, wants ideas from Montana veterans to share with his fellow committee members. He has held four previous listening sessions in Anaconda, Missoula, Kalispell and Helena.

Montana veterans are encouraged to join Tester to share their thoughts on ways to improve the VA and build on the department’s strengths.
