Protect yourself and your fellow Montanans - don't forget your flu shot!
Why should I get my flu shot?
Getting a flu vaccine every year is the best way to prevent infection with influenza, a virus that can cause many of the same symptoms as COVID-19. COVID-19 cases may surge in the fall and winter, and would put a serious strain on Montana health care workers, community health centers, and hospitals. To preserve critical health care resources, keep yourself healthy, and help prevent the spread of the flu, make sure you get your flu shot.
What are common symptoms of the flu?
According for the Centers for Disease Control, common flu symptoms include:
- Fever* or chills
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle or body aches
- Some folks may experience vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
*Note: Not everyone with the flu will experience a fever.
