Tester Congratulates Helena’s Brock McDaid on Acceptance to West Point

Senator nominated class of 2024 students for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies

U.S. Senator Jon Tester congratulated Helena area high schooler Brock McDaid today on his appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Brock is a varsity football and wrestling athlete at Broadwater High School. He is also a SkillsUSA National Competitor and a member of the National Honor Society.

“Brock is an exceptional young Montanan, who has already proven himself to be a tremendous student and leader,” said Tester. “I wish him all the best on his exciting new journey at West Point, where I have no doubt that he will serve our state and country proudly.”

Tester nominated Brock in December based on his academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military. A nomination from a member of Congress is the first step in students’ applications to the four schools.
