Tester Delivers Grant to Support Homeownership in Montana

$434,246 to Educate, Improve Housing Conditions Across the State

(U.S. Senate) - U.S. Senator Jon Tester today announced a grant that will help Montana homeowners stay in their homes.

The $434,246 will benefit NeighborWorks Montana, which works to increase access to quality, affordable housing for low-income Montanans.

"Everyone needs a place to call home," Tester said. "NeighborWorks does a great job of making that a reality for folks in Montana, and this grant will help them continue making sure folks have the tools they need to own their own homes."

The grant is administered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and will allow NeighborWorks Montana to help homeowners improve housing conditions and better understand and meet the responsibilities of homeownership.

Tester has fought hard to make sure everyone who wants to can purchase their own home - in June he secured $147 million for NeighborWorks programs nationwide.
