Tester Brings Home Funding for Community Health Centers

Senator Secures Nearly $1 Million For Clinics Across Montana

(U.S. Senate) – As part of his ongoing efforts to deliver affordable health care to all Montanans, U.S. Senator Jon Tester recently secured nearly $1 million in funding for community health centers across the state—just in time for National Health Center Week.

The Health Center Quality Improvement grants will support 16 community health centers across Montana.

“Community health centers provide unique services tailored to the needs of the folks they serve," Tester said. “As your Senator, I’ll continue to fight to make sure these centers have the resources necessary to deliver the timely, affordable health care Montanans need.”

Earlier this year, Tester led the charge to secure these resources after the Community Health Center Fund expired and Congress passed four short-term budgets that failed to renew long-term funding for these critical health care facilities. He was the only member of Montana’s delegation to vote to fund community health centers.

Tester was recognized as a national champion for community health centers and an advocate for Montana's patients and medical professionals by the National Association of Community Health Centers for his efforts.

The allocation of grants is as follows:

  • Bighorn Valley Health Center: $63,760
  • Bullhook Community Health Center (Havre): $49,998
  • Butte-Silver Bow Primary Health Care Clinic: $45,000
  • Cascade City-County Health Department: $46,532
  • Central Montana Community Health Center (Lewistown): $47,142
  • Community Health Partners (Gallatin County): $64,167
