Tester Statement on Resolution to Revive Net Neutrality

Senator Supports Legislation to Maintain a Free and Open Internet

(U.S. Senate) - U.S. Senator Jon Tester issued the following statement after a group of senators took the final step to force a vote on a bipartisan resolution to restore internet freedom:

"Repealing Net Neutrality handed our internet access over to large corporations, who can now block or slow down websites then charge folks to view them. It's a decision that hurts commerce, small business, education, and health care. Our bipartisan resolution will reopen the internet, allowing Montanans the freedom to connect without spending their hard-earned dollars on unnecessary fees."

Tester's resolution will void the Federal Communications Commission's decision to repeal Net Neutrality. It is supported by 50 Republicans, Democrats, and Independents in the Senate. It is expected to receive a vote next week.
