(U.S. Senate) - As part of his ongoing efforts to #ConnectMT, U.S. Senator Jon Tester announced today that Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport will receive $2.75 million to continue upgrading its facilities, investing in infrastructure, and opening the door to good-paying jobs in the Gallatin Valley.

"Supporting Montana's airports accomplishes so many goals," Tester said. "Bolstering our air travel infrastructure not only increases quality of life and ensures folks can get where they need to go, but it also creates good-paying jobs in our communities, increases the city's capacity for business and recreation travelers, and makes our cities a better investment moving forward."

Specifically, this funding will go toward rehabilitating runways, which will not only create construction jobs now, but contribute to the region's economic growth in the future.

"We appreciate Senator Tester's assistance on this vital discretionary Airport Improvement Grant," said Brian Sprenger, Director of Bozeman Yellowstone International. "Having funding assured, we are now set to complete our critical main runway rehabilitation scheduled for next spring."

The grant was awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program (AIP), which provides investments in air travel infrastructure across the country. Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport has received an additional $5 million through the AIP this year to upgrade its facilities and expand its travel capacity.

This grant will not only contribute to Tester's #ConnectMT initiative-which aims to connect folks across Big Sky Country by investing in Montana's physical and digital infrastructure-but is also a perfect example of investments Tester has been championing to create more jobs and #EmployMT.
